Buying a DVD Player – Deliveries and Postage Costs

  • Standard and Specialist Delivery: Delivery costs £3.95, and you should receive your DVD player within five working days. If the product information page states that delivery will take 14 days or more, you will be contacted so that a suitable delivery date can be arranged. If you order more than £100 worth of goods and have them all delivered to one address, delivery is free.
  • Next Working Day Delivery: If you want your DVD player to be delivered on the next working day, you’ll need to place your order before 3pm.. This service excludes Bank Holidays, Sundays and Public Holidays. The delivery charge is £6.95.
  • Named Day Delivery: With this service, you can specify a delivery date (although deliveries are not made on Sundays, Bank Holidays or Public Holidays). Delivery costs £6.95.
  • If you need your items to be sent to two separate addresses then make sure that you fill out two separate orders. Separate delivery charges will apply to both addresses.
  • Deliveries are made on Mondays and Fridays, between 9am and 5.30pm. You will need to sign for your DVD player. If nobody is at home to sign for it, a card will be left by the courier with details of how you can rearrange the delivery.

Buying a DVD Player – Returns and Refunds Policy

  • In order to change or cancel your order, phone the store’s Customer Service Team with your order number and delivery date to hand.
  • If you wish to return your DVD player, you can do so within 28 days of delivery. It must be returned in an “as new” condition with the original packaging. If it is found that the item is damaged or incomplete, the company reserves the right to refuse a refund or deduct an amount of up to 20% from your refund.
  • Return via Courier: If you want to return your DVD player by courier, you will need to complete an online returns form giving details of your order number, stock number, and your reason for returning it, and confirming whether you wish to have a refund or replacement. Once this form is submitted, you will be contacted by the Customer Service Team who will arrange for a courier to pick up your item free of charge.
  • Return to a Store: You can also return your DVD player to one of the company’s High Street stores. Take the product along with its despatch note and tell the sales assistant that you purchased the item online.
  • Refunds will be made once the item has been received by John Lewis. If your DVD player was damaged or faulty when it arrived, or was delivered incorrectly, a full refund of the delivery charge will be made.
